That's going to be my new phrase from now on.
Let’s make a memory!
I want to say 'I read somewhere' but I am pretty sure it was a post on Instagram ... *hidesface*. Well anyway it was talking about how people don't make time for new experiences anymore. Our lives are so busy we meet up with friends and talk about good times and old memories, and of course the stresses of life, and we do that over and over and over again. But we don't prioritise making new memories. We sit in restaurants, when we could be painting. We sit on stools in cafes when we could be at a dance class together. We share life updates, instead of creating life fulfilling moments together.
When I saw this post, I was thinking GOSH, isn't that true!?
When was the last time I tried something brand new?
When was the last time I did something with a friend other than... eat?
Dear foodies this is NOT a jab at you! Far from it! But even my love of food and I can see that there is a massive gap in the new experience game.
We breathe without any thought at all, it just happens, most of us don't notice our breathing until we exercise or have a blocked nose. 20,000 times a day on average we inhale and exhale.
But LIVING. That takes a lot more thought, consideration, and time management to happen. There are SO many barriers too:
The busyness of life
People pleasing
Creative blockers
Work , chores, bills, admin
and the list goes on.
Yet I know I want to do things that make me feel ALIVE!
Which is why I am booking a salsa class for next week.
I LOVE SALSA! Yet I haven't done a salsa class yet this year and we are nearly halfway through 2025. *Yikes*
What's one thing you can do today to feel ALIVE?
What's one thing you can do with a friend, to change that coffee date into a core memory?
Inspo welcomed in the comments...
Triggered much!! 😩😆but yes love this! Anything while champagning is my pref (except trying on wedding dresses which is an activity combo I could never understand 🤷🏾♀️)
